Supplemental Programs

Before & After School Care

For families who need extended coverage around the school day:

• Morning Energizers (Before School): available from 7:15–8:00 AM (latest drop-off is 7:45 AM). $10/hour.
• Extended Day (After School): available until 5:45 PM. Students not picked up during regular carpool are automatically transitioned to Extended Day. $10/hour.

Fast ForWord

Fast ForWord, from Scientific Learning, is a supplemental after-school program that targets the cognitive skills underlying reading and language — including working memory, attention, auditory processing, and sequencing. Students typically participate in structured sessions over several weeks, working on activities designed to strengthen these foundational skills alongside their classroom instruction. Up to twelve students are accepted into the on-campus program per semester, though additional students may participate from home; the program is offered exclusively to Porter Academy students. Integrated Listening Systems (iLs)

iLs is a therapeutic, multi-sensory listening program offered after school. Students listen to modified classical music while engaging in gross motor, fine motor, and visual-perceptual activities. The program is designed to support vestibular functioning — balance, posture, and eye movement — which in turn can benefit sensory regulation, auditory processing, and coordination. Summer Camp

Our summer camp, offered full-day or half day, five weeks each summer, helps students retain the academic and social skills they built during the school year, while strengthening teamwork and social skills through group activities in a relaxed, fun environment.
