Support Porter Academy
We provide developmental homerooms and individualized academic programs for students Pre-K through 8th grade. Porter Academy helps students who struggle in traditional school settings find success and build confidence in their abilities. Because learning and developmental differences have no regard for family finances, we work hard to keep tuition as reasonable as possible while hiring quality educators, purchasing quality materials, and providing a quality education. Your support helps close that gap — partnering with us means you have a unique role in impacting the next generation. Here are several ways you can support Porter Academy students:
Redirect Your Georgia Tax Dollars (no cost to you)
Georgia residents may redirect a portion of their state tax payment toward Porter Academy student scholarships through the SSO Tax Credit program, at no cost to you — the amount is fully refunded when you file your return. This is one of the easiest ways to support a student who needs Porter Academy but couldn’t otherwise afford it. Complete the GA state tax credit pre-approval form to get started (Student Scholarship Organization: GREAT SSO, INC).
Make a Monetary Donation
Gifts to our Annual Fund close the gap between tuition income and our actual operating costs. Even small donations help, and 100% family participation strengthens our standing when applying for outside grants. You can donate:
- Online via Zeffy (no processing fees)
- Through our GA Gives page
- By mail: 200 Cox Road Roswell, GA 30075
- Or simply send it in with your child’s daily planner
Check for a Company Match
Over 200 companies will match employee donations to nonprofits dollar-for-dollar. Ask your HR department if yours is one of them, or search your employer directly at doublethedonation.com/matching-gift-database to find your company’s specific process.
Give Indirectly, Through Everyday Purchases
- Kroger Community Rewards — Link your Kroger Plus card to Porter Academy Inc. through your Kroger account, and a portion of your everyday grocery purchases is donated automatically.
- Box Tops for Education — Download the free Box Tops app and scan your receipts for qualifying products. (Box Tops has moved fully digital — paper clipping is no longer part of the program.)
- ShopRaise — Shop through the free ShopRaise app or browser extension at nearly 2,000 retailers to raise up to 10% on your everyday purchases, at no additional cost to you.
Volunteer Your Time
Share a special skill or interest with our students! For example, someone could demonstrate how to build a computer, hit a tennis ball, or lead a fun science experiment with our students. We also welcome guest readers and guest speakers — if you have an hour or two to spare, we’d love to have you.
Donate Supplies or Goods
We gladly accept donations of educational toys, furniture, computers, and other classroom equipment. A tax receipt is available — just ask the front office.
